If you are taking a break from active design sprints, you might want to temporarily suspend your billing rather than canceling your Figma Weave plan entirely. Pausing allows you to retain your saved custom prompt templates, workspace configurations, and unused credit balances until you resume your workflow.

This guide explains how to pause your recurring payment cycle, what happens to your AI design generations while paused, and how to reactivate your access.

Quick checks

  • Check account role: You must be an Account Owner or Billing Administrator in your workspace to modify plan billing cycles.
  • Active generation check: Ensure no active generations are running, as pausing your plan will lock prompt generation immediately after the current billing period ends. If your canvas is locked up, see our guide on Figma Weave not generating designs.
  • Pending invoices: Ensure there are no outstanding payment failures. If you see a billing alert, review our guide to resolving a Figma Weave billing error before changing plan states.
  1. Log into your workspace billing settings

Navigate to your account avatar in Figma, select Settings, and switch to the Billing tab under your team or organization workspace.

  1. Access plan management options

Under your active Figma Weave plan summary, click Manage Plan or Edit Subscription.

  1. Select the pause billing option

Instead of choosing "Cancel Subscription", select Pause Billing. You will be prompted to choose a pause duration (typically 1 to 3 billing cycles).

  1. Confirm pause end date and terms

Review the resumption date. During the paused state, your existing generated assets remain fully editable on your canvas, but new AI prompt generations will be suspended until billing resumes.

  1. Save changes and verify status

Confirm your selection. Your subscription status will show as "Pause Scheduled" until the end of your current paid billing period, after which billing will halt.

Still stuck?

If the option to pause does not appear in your billing dashboard or if your card continues to be charged during a paused cycle, your workspace may be on an enterprise contract. Contact your organization's admin or submit a support ticket directly through the official Figma account portal. Figma Weave Support is an independent resource and cannot modify account subscriptions directly.
