When using the Iconify plugin alongside frames generated by Figma Weave, you might experience infinite loading spinners, blank search results, or unexpected connection errors. These conflicts usually happen when Weave leaves unparsed canvas node properties active or when heavy AI vector outputs saturate Figma's plugin memory buffer.

Quick checks

  • Verify your Figma desktop app is updated to the latest build.
  • Confirm your internet connection is stable and not blocking Iconify's API endpoint.
  • Make sure Figma Weave is missing from the Figma editor isn't an issue affecting your canvas permissions or plugin access.
  1. Clear Figma's cache and reload: Stale cache data from generative AI runs can clog plugin background scripts. In the Figma desktop app, open Help > Troubleshooting > Clear Cache and Restart.
  2. Detach or simplify generated vector frames: Weave often produces deeply nested vector paths. Select the generated AI frame, right-click, and select "Ungroup" or detach any broken components before searching in Iconify.
  3. Stop active background generations: If Figma Weave is not generating or is stuck in an endless processing loop, terminate the generation prompt. Active AI background tasks lock the canvas API and block third-party plugins from fetching icon sets.
  4. Run Iconify outside the Weave selection: Unselect all Weave-generated layers on your canvas. Launch Iconify, perform your icon search, drop the icon onto a clean workspace area, and then drag it into your Weave frame.
  5. Reinstall the Iconify plugin: Open Figma's Plugin menu, remove Iconify, restart the editor, and reinstall it from the Figma Community page to reset API authorization tokens.

Still stuck?

If Iconify continues to freeze during searches, check if Figma Weave is down or unreachable or experiencing high global latency. You can also test running Iconify on a brand new, non-AI Figma file to isolate whether the issue lies within your specific Weave workspace.
