Figma Weave not appearing in Figma: fix

Weave missing from the toolbar or right panel is nearly always an eligibility, version, or workspace problem.

Check eligibility first

Weave is surfaced per account, per team, and per plan. A colleague seeing the panel in the same file is not proof that your account should see it — entitlement follows the seat, not the file.

The five-minute checklist

  1. Update the app. Desktop builds more than a few releases old often hide newer AI surfaces entirely.
  2. Confirm the right team. Open a file owned by the team that holds the entitlement.
  3. Check organisation AI settings. Admins can disable AI features workspace-wide; the panel then does not render at all rather than showing an error.
  4. Re-authenticate. Sign out of the desktop app completely, then sign back in so entitlements refresh.
  5. Compare in the browser. If the panel appears in the browser build, the desktop install is the problem.

Editor mode matters

Weave surfaces only in design files with edit access. View-only access, dev mode, and FigJam files legitimately hide it.
