If Figma Weave stopped responding, work out first whether the outage is global or local to your machine. That decision changes everything you do next.

1. Check the live status widget

Our status page mirrors the last recorded state of Figma Weave generation, authentication and plugin delivery. If it reads anything other than operational, the issue is upstream and there is no local fix.

2. Confirm it is not your session

  • Open a private/incognito window and load Figma.
  • Sign in again and open a small test file.
  • Try one short prompt such as "simple button component".

If the test prompt works in a clean session, the fault is cached state in your normal browser profile, not an outage.

3. Rule out network filtering

Corporate VPNs and DNS filters frequently block the AI generation endpoints while leaving the Figma editor itself working. That produces the classic symptom of an editor that loads fine but a Weave panel that spins forever. Disconnect the VPN and retry.

4. What to do during a real outage

Queue your prompts locally, keep your file open, and avoid repeatedly cancelling generations — repeated retries can consume credits on partially completed jobs.
